Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. It has a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years.  Today, therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.  CBD is a non-psychoactive compound of the plant that possess a wide range of benefits and does not cause a high, unlike THC. Our bodies are made up of an Endocannabinoid System which uses cannabinoids to maintain its healthy cells.

CBD is derived from the cannabis plants that have high levels of CBD (cannabidiol) and low levels of THC.  Under the 2018 Farm Act, we use less than 0.3% THC.

No,  Scientifically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana are the same plant, falling under the species name of Cannabis Sativa. But they have quite a different genetic profile.  Industrial Hemp is always from the strain of Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana on the other hand can be Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, or even the Cannabis Ruderalis.  

Majority of the time marijuana has a high concentration of THC, with low CBD.  Hemp on the other hand has high amount of CBD in most instances, and trace amounts of THC.  And this is a reason CBD is becoming beneficially popular - benefits from cannabis without the ‘high’.  

(Added bonus: hemp is not only for making herbal supplements, topicals, but also for:  fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and more things are being created. Marijuana does not have that capability; it’s for recreational, spiritual, and medical.

Not all Cannabidiol (CBD) is created the same.  Choose Full Spectrum or traditional CBD Isolate.

Full Spectrum Cannabinoids, known as hemp extract oil, contains additional cannabinoids beside Cannabidiol (CBD).  This includes a long list of cannabis compounds, such as Cannbidnol (CBN), Cannabicyclol (CNL), CAnnabidiolic acid synthatse (CBDa), and Cannabichromevarinic Acid (CBCVA), to name a few.  

Basically, Full Spectrum leaves nothing out (minus the THC which gives the psychoactive high feeling. Note: there is always a  trace amount, < 0.3% of THC in industrial hemp).

Isolate CBD is just that, isolated.  One part of the plant is being pulled out, separated, from the other cannabis compounds.  So you’re only getting just that one compound.

Our Hemp Extract Oil contains CBD which is a federally legal cannabinoid.  Because we use a beautiful Full Spectrum Oil, it does contain minuscule amounts of THC that could show up in drug screens if you use internal CBD Supplements.  Depending on the test, and some are very sensitive, you may ‘mark’ positive (or you may not) while ingesting Full Spectrum CBD. The hemp goes under supercritical CO2 and subcritical ethanol methods during the hemp oil extracting process.  These processes are supported by the FDA and have been given the GRAS (generally recognized as safe) stamp.
